To get to Foggensee from Munich, you can take a train to Füssen, which is the closest town to the lake. The train journey takes about two hours and costs around 25 euros. From Füssen, you can take a bus, taxi, or just walk to the lake which is about 1 km away from Füssen train station.

Honestly it’s quite difficult to get here from Munich without a car and driving is by far the best option.
  • Gruntensee is surrounded by scenic nature and wildlife. You can enjoy hiking on the trails around the lake, which are well-maintained and suitable for all levels of difficulty. You can also learn about the fish species in the lake by following the fish education trail at the Fischerhütte.

The Ostersee is part of a group of 24 smaller lakes called Osterseen. It is about 50 km south-south-west of Munich, and you can easily get there by car or by train.

If you drive, you can take the A95 motorway and exit at Penzberg/Iffeldorf, then follow the signs to Iffeldorf and Osterseen.

There are also several islands in the lake that you can visit, such as Holzau, Marieninsel, and Roseninsel.
